Description
Villa Matisse features two bedrooms with king-size beds fitted with premium cotton linens. Both en-suite bathroom includes a hot shower, bath amenities, along with both pool and bath towels.
Please note that the two bedrooms are side by side, they are not interconnecting from inside the Villa.
The terrace features 2 tables and 4 chairs (1 table and 2 chairs in front of each bedroom).
Shanti Rock Residence is built with an intimacy mindset that gives our guests a feeling of being pampered in a gorgeous oriental style property on a tropical island.
The property features a generous outdoor space that includes a stunning shared pool and a large, fully equipped open-air shared kitchen and dining area.
On request, guests also have access to two individual yoga shalas, a meditation room, and a Hammam (Turkish steam bath).
The shared kitchen features a two-burner gas stove, oven, microwave, blender, toaster, kettle, rice cooker, ice cube maker (safe for consumption), and a Nespresso coffee machine. The adjoining terrace offers a comfortable dining area.
Complimentary coffee, tea, and drinking water are available 24/7 in the kitchen.
Housekeeping is included every 4 days.
This property is ideal for customers in quest of authentic island feeling with a trendy and wellness-focused atmosphere.
To preserve the peaceful environment, parties and events are not permitted at the Residence.

The Surroundings
Villa Matisse is ideally located in the natural area of Sri Thanu, the health-
conscious and most sought-after area of Koh Phangan.
The village center is just a short distance away, there you‘ll find a lively atmosphere with a variety of local and international restaurants, cafés, bustling food market, charming little shops and cozy coffee spots.
The Sri Thanu area, home to world-renowned yoga retreats & wellness centers, is a vibrant hub of diverse activities such as fitness classes, Pilates, circus workshops, massage and hammam & ice bath centers. It also offers many places to enjoy live music, jam sessions, open mic nights, and events that bring the community together.
Happy Beach (Sri Thanu Beach), Zen Beach and their famous sunset are as well a few minutes drive from the Residence.
A laundry service is available 500 meters away from the Villa.
We recommend renting a scooter (or a car) for your own comfort.
Scooter & car rental is available few meters away from the residence and free
parking is available onsite.
House Rules & Policies
To ensure a peaceful and enjoyable stay for all guests, we kindly ask you to observe the following house rules during your stay:
• Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM.
Noise or activity that disrupts the calm atmosphere of the residence or the neighborhood is not permitted at any time.
• Parties and events are strictly prohibited.
• Children under the age of 12 must be supervised at all times, especially around the pool, kitchen, and garden areas.
• Smoking is not permitted inside the villa. Outdoor smoking is allowed.
• Any physical damage to the property or its contents will result in additional charges based on the extent of the damage and the cost of repairs. Guests are asked to inform the host as soon as possible in the event of any accidental damage.
• The shared kitchen must be used quietly after 10:00 PM.
• Villa Matisse is limited to a maximum of four guests. Only registered guests may sleep at the villa.
• Subletting the villa or using it for business purposes is not permitted without prior written approval from the owners.
These policies are in place to help preserve the tranquil atmosphere of Shanti Rock Residence and to ensure a comfortable and respectful environment for all guests and neighbors.
The Residence is not responsible or liable for any loss or damage of personal belongings, or for any accidents or injuries that may occur during your stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is lovely, clean, and very peaceful, making it the perfect spot to relax. The location is great, close to everything yet still quiet and calm. The staff was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. It was also great to see that the property was built with care for the environment and the unique magic of the island 🧚🏼🌴.

An absolutely fantastic oasis. The rooms and architecture are beautifully embedded in the lush natural surroundings. The pool is fantastic, very quiet, shaded by palm trees, and completely integrated into the greenery. An absolute dream.
Nubia took care of everything for us: car rental, restaurant tips (PumPui is highly recommended!), beach tips (Zen Beach and Ko Ma Beach were our favorites).
Nubia is always reachable by mobile and helpful.
The rooms were clean and nice. The communal kitchen was great. Fast, uninterrupted internet. I can recommend this place.

Highly recommend! The location is very tranquil and beautiful. We had a wonderful stay that allowed us to rest and recharge, spending time around the pool and villa. The host was very friendly and responsive with lots of helpful tips for the area. Beach and restaurants are within walking distance and we didn’t really leave the area the whole time we stayed. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope one day we will be back.

Michel’s place is absolutely gorgeous – it looks just like the photos. The rooms were spotless with big, beautiful bathrooms. And the pool was lovely for swimming. The outdoor kitchen was fully equipped and a dream to cook in. My husband, 7-year-old daughter, and I stayed over Christmas and we felt so welcome and at home. Nubia, Michel’s daughter, speaks perfect English and is so kind and helpful and we can tell that she truly cares about her guests. The town, with lots of restaurants to enjoy, is a short 10-minute walk away. And the beach took us only 15 minutes to walk to. It is a great location. I highly recommend staying here.

If you want a relaxing place to stay in Koh Phangan, Shanti Rock Residence is definitely the place to be. We are a group of 4 and we had a great time! As the place can be quite away from the center, it is still walkable to Zen Beach but we would suggest renting a car as it can be really hot and humid in Thailand. Michel and Nubia also sent us a lot of recommendations of restaurants and places to go to in the island which was really helpful. The place is exactly what it looks like in the photos. Well done to Michel and Nubia.

As a family with two children, we spent four nights at Villa Matisse. We had previously been in contact with Nubia, Michel’s daughter. She was extremely attentive and helpful. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Michel, who was present throughout our stay and was also very helpful. The accommodation itself and the entire complex are incredibly beautiful and meticulously designed. During our stay, everything was at our disposal, including unrestricted use of the pool. Everything was always very clean and well-maintained. Drinking water and coffee were also available in the open kitchen.

We booked the accommodation as a family with our almost three-year-old son, Leo, very spontaneously, as the weather near Khao Lak and Phuket wasn’t great. Communication was excellent from the start, and Nubia is practically always accessible. The area is simply wonderfully designed, very detailed, and simply beautiful. There are numerous excellent restaurants and great cafés in the surrounding area. However, you should own a scooter, as taxi prices are quite questionable. The accommodation is highly recommended and fits perfectly with this very chilled and beautiful setting!

My friends and I had a really amazing times here at the beautiful villa Matisse. Very artistic atmosphere and stylish decor, quiet and private. The beautiful pool, yoga house and sauna are super soothing and cozy.
Great location, super close to the town of Hin Kong Road, where there are so many tasty restaurants nearby. Mama market and Mama Kop, which are highly recommended by our lovely host Nubia, are definitely worth to try!
Nubia is super proactive and responsive, warm and kind, gave us a lot of wonderful recommendations for restaurants and tourist sights. She took great care of this villa and also the housekeeping cleaning was very satisfied. We had an unforgettable birthday here at Villa Matisse, many thanks to lovely Nubia for the amazing birthday gifts and surprises!

We feel fortunate to have been able to spend a few days in this special place. Nubia is a wonderful and friendly host, and we felt welcome from the very beginning. Villa Matisse consists of two adjoining bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The huge and beautiful pool and the superbly equipped outdoor kitchen are shared with the hosts and a maximum of two other guests.
